![]() Whenever someone joins, you stand ready to TP out of here if it's a PK. There are also more dangers, more thrills. There's a camaraderie in hardcore that feels different than softcore. I've been given quite a bit of items for free, and i've given items for free in return. People are more likely to help each others out. ![]() It becomes less of a race, and more of a goal hard to attain. it will go well.īut most importantly, it changes the whole approach to the game. Especially now that there are a ton of guides available, if you take this semi-seriously and pay attention to the gear you wear, the runewords to make etc. You will have a couple of close calls and then you will say "never again", and be extra careful the next times. You will ask yourself "is it safe for me to go there". When you play hardcore, you will be cautious inevitably. You can turn off the part of your brain that pays attention and focus on killing things as fast as possible. When you play softcore, you know that death isn't the end. (Well, technically second - my very first died at lvl 6 in a tristram run :-) ) It is something that I'm realizing now as my first ever hardcore character on Diablo 2 has just reached Hell difficulty.
